High above the city of Heidelberg stands the breath-taking Heidelberg Schloss (castle). The castle is a haphazard combination of several buildings from different periods of German architecture, some as old as 800 years.
The view from the city is breath-taking, and so is the city from the castle. The city is renowned for its University. For German students, the cost of tuition is $300 a year. For international students, it’s $30,000. That may explain why so many Germans are college graduates.
They were setting up for a performance when we walked through the castle gardens. I loved how sculptural the set looked.
Another surprise came across as we walked through the gardens was seeing Samantha Brown filming for her travel show. I got to chat with her and tell her I loved her show. She was really kind and I took a couple of selfies with her.
I love to collect Ornaments when I travel and this was a dream Christmas Shop. I came away with quite a few ornaments. I think German ornaments are my favorite.
I’ve always heard of Hen Parties but never saw one in person. These gals were having a ball.
Heidelberg is a town I would love to go back to again.
